The Oscars 2013 are over with yet another stunning awards ceremony that saw the top honors going to Daniel Day and Jennifer Lawrence. As the Academy Awards are over, now all the attention has been diverted to the Oscars curse (sumpahan Oscar). It is one of the age-old myth, which is surrounding the Academy Awards that the woman who wins the Oscar award for Best Actress will have her husband or boyfriend divorce her or cheat on her soon after.

The 'curse' also applies to the Best Supporting actress. This is why people are waiting what the destiny will bring for this year's Best Supporting actress - Anne Hathaway. The newly wedded couple - Anne Hathaway and Adam Shulman will hope that their marriage survives the Academy Awards 'curse'. 


It is the wish of all actresses to win the Oscar award; however, according to the statistics, female winners of the prestigious award are said to 63% more chances of a short marriage than those, who do not win. Out of the 266 females nominated for the Best Actress awards since the Academy Awards started in 1936, 159 have got divorced. This is the reason, every actress nominated for the Best Actress or Best Supporting Actress has a fear in her mind about the 'curse'. Some of the actresses, who have suffered from the 'curse' include Sandra Bullock, Kate Winslet, Hilary Swank and Renee Zellweger to name a few among many.


Now, Anne Hathaway will be crossing her fingers and will be hoping not to become the next victim of the 'Academy Awards 'curse'.
